The Year of the Bees Update
View original post on SteamOverview
Valve has dropped the Budapest Champions Autograph Capsule to close out what has been an absolutely historic year for competitive Counter-Strike. This is a celebratory update rather than a content-heavy one — no new cases, no operation, no map changes.
The sole focus is honoring Team Vitality's dominant run through the StarLadder Budapest Major, where they became the first organization to win back-to-back Major Championships in the same calendar year and claimed their third Major title overall. For traders and collectors, the timing matters: Major Champion capsules have a well-established track record of appreciating over time, and this one carries extra narrative weight given the historic nature of Vitality's 2025 sweep.
If you were sleeping on the playoff sticker capsules from earlier in the year, this is your reminder not to make the same mistake twice.

New Skins & Collections
There are no new weapon skins, cases, or collections in this update — it is purely a sticker capsule release. The Budapest Champions Autograph Capsule contains player autograph stickers from the Team Vitality roster in four finishes: Paper, Embroidered, Holo, and Gold.
As always, Gold stickers are the chase items here and will command the steepest premiums immediately out of the gate. Embroidered stickers have carved out a strong niche in recent Major cycles as a mid-tier collectible that holds value better than Paper without requiring the eye-watering investment of Golds.
Paper stickers are largely filler from a pure investment standpoint, though they remain accessible entry points for fans who simply want to rep their favorite players. Keep an eye on individual player stickers — star players and MVPs within the Vitality lineup will naturally carry higher demand than support or utility players, so do your homework on who the crowd favorites are before opening your wallet.
Gameplay & System Changes
This update contains no gameplay changes, no economy adjustments, no UI updates, no anti-cheat improvements, and no map alterations. It is a single-item commemorative release tied to the conclusion of the 2025 Major season.
There is genuinely nothing here that affects how the game plays, how your rank is calculated, or how matches are structured — outside of the historic footnote that this Grand Finals was Counter-Strike's first ever best-of-five format, which Vitality won 3-1 after dropping the opening map to FaZe Clan. That format change for Grand Finals is worth noting as a broader competitive evolution, but it was implemented during the tournament itself rather than introduced via this patch.
Players waiting on a meaty content update or anti-cheat progress will need to keep waiting.
Market Impact — Trader's Take
Champion capsules are one of the most reliable long-term holds in CS2 trading, and the added historical context here — consecutive Majors, first BO5 Grand Finals, Vitality's third title — gives this capsule a stronger narrative foundation than most. The smart play is to buy into the capsule itself within the first 48 to 72 hours before hype pricing fully inflates, then hold for at least six to twelve months.
Individual Gold stickers will spike hard on release and then correct; if you are flipping, sell into that initial frenzy. For existing Vitality-related items — prior Major stickers, any Vitality team graffiti, or crafted guns featuring Vitality player stickers from Budapest — expect a short-term bump in interest as the community celebrates.
The broader sticker market on older Major capsules tends to get a quiet lift whenever a new champion capsule drops, as it reminds collectors of the category's value. Do not sleep on sealing a few capsules away untouched; sealed, unrecovered Major Champion capsules from dominant dynasties age extremely well.
